With Easter just around the corner, I wanted to hop on here to encourage you, friend. To help you better understand a little more of how Jesus can totally transform your life. Here's the thing, I've grown up in a Christian home my entire life, and sometimes it's easy to read the Bible but totally not apply it and not let it sink in. I feel like others might be able to relate. Others might not. Recently, though, I've been in awe of Jesus and what He did for me, and I want you to be, too! It's because of this: I think each of us has to take a step back through eyes of humility and let it sink in...what the Cross and Empty Tomb truly means for you and I. Because of Jesus You and I Are...Chosen"Ye have not chosen me, but I have chosen you, and ordained you, that ye should go and bring forth fruit, and that your fruit should remain: that whatsoever ye shall ask of the Father in my name, he may give it you." -John 15:16 Even though we as sinners did not at first choose Him, He chose us, called us. Isn't that amazing?! Even as dirty, filthy sinners God chose to love us and give us an opportunity to be a part of His amazing plan. It's humbling, really, because we didn't deserve that chance. However, He made it possible. Blessed"But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus." -Philippians 4:19 God's promises are secure in such a tumultuous world. That is a blessing. He's our solid foundation in such a rocky, crumbling world, which is another blessing. But you want to know the biggest blessing? The fact that He sent His Son to be offered as our sacrifice, to shed His blood so that we could go free, to give us hope and free us from the bondage of sin. None of this could be possible without Jesus Christ. Forgiven"If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness." -1 John 1:9 We no longer have to drown in the depths of sin, but we can soar with Christ because He is faithful to forgive us when we confess our sins. That Cross represents forgiveness. With Jesus's hands nailed to the Cross and arms spread open wide, I truly believe it's a representation of Psalm 103:12, "As far as the east is from the west, so far hath he removed our transgressions from us." Redeemed"I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me." -Galatians 2:20 Because of Jesus, we are redeemed. Set free from the old person who used to live inside of us. No longer is it me who gets control. I lay my life down for the One who gave Himself for me. And now, I'm brand new. Redeemed from the sin I had been a slave to. He's making me new each and every day. Making me whole. And this is only possible through the death and resurrection of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. It's jaw-dropping, tear-jerking. The pain and agony Jesus went through--and innocent He was!--simply because He loved you and I. I could never earn it, but I can live for Him, praise Him, adore Him. Because He lives! And only He can fill me up with the satisfaction that my heart and soul longs for. So, may we take a step back and truly thank the Lord for all He has made possible for each one of us. For who we are and can be in Him. There is a Jesus shaped hole in each of our hearts, and He's knocking. May you accept the greatest gift full of hope: Salvation. Then, that hole will be filled. You May Also Enjoy:
