Give Him Your All.Mark 12:41-44 says this: "And Jesus sat over against the treasury, and beheld how the people cast money into the treasury: and many that were rich cast in much. And there came a certain poor widow, and she threw in two mites, which make a farthing. And he called unto him his disciples, and saith unto them, Verily I say unto you, That this poor widow hath cast more in, than all they which have cast into the treasury: For all they did cast in of their abundance; but she of her want did cast in all that she had, even all her living."
Think about this: You only have fifty dollars in your pocket. You need groceries. Your family is starving, and their lives are depending on you to get them what they need to survive. But there's a truthful, loving, humble, and honest man offering something ten times better than what you could get on your own. All you have to do is give Him your money, and trust Him to work out His plan. So what do you do? A mite is a very small amount. But in this story with Jesus and the poor widow, it wasn't necessarily the amount of money that mattered. Her tremendous faith and trust in God was outstanding! The woman was widowed, so she didn't have a husband to provide for her. Therefore, she was poor. Yet, she had great enough faith to give God all her money. Every. Single. Penny. She gave it to God. Jesus said that above all the wealthy people that had cast in larger amounts of money, this poor woman had cast more in. How is that possible? She trusted God with her life, her future, and financial issues. She knew that if she gave it to The Lord, He would give her something so much greater. "How does this apply to me?" you may ask. I'll tell you. So often we're terrified to give God all that we have, in order to receive something so much better that He wants to give us. I encourage you today, stop being afraid. The Bible says that His thoughts are not our thoughts, neither are His ways our ways. We have to understand that. So, lay your troubles, problems, situations at God's feet. Pay your tithes. Trust Him with your life. Cast in all that you have, even all your living. Because God wants someone who's willing. ;) Keep Smiling, rosepetalsandfaith <3
