In a world full of hate...I choose love.
I don't think it's any secret that the world we live in, is a mess...it's been turned upside down. Everywhere you look, there's destruction, there's hate, and there's division. You hardly ever see someone with compassion and a heart full of love. Don't get me wrong, there are people out there full of love, but it's not as prominent as the hate there is now a day.
It's so sad to know that we choose to tear others down rather than build them up and encourage them. That's what I what to try to do today, encourage you. There's an alternative to the dark world. There is a hope. Turn to Jesus Christ, and choose His love.
I choose to lift others up. I choose to be compassionate. 1 Peter 3:8-12 reads, "Finally, be ye all of one mind, having compassion one of another, love as brethren, be pitiful, be courteous: Not rendering evil for evil, or railing for railing: but contrariwise blessing; knowing that ye are thereunto called, that ye should inherit a blessing. For he that will love life, and see good days, let him refrain his tongue from evil, and his lips that they speak no guile: Let him eschew evil, and do good; let him seek peace, and ensue it. For the eyes of the Lord are over the righteous, and his ears are open unto their prayers: but the face of the Lord is against them that do evil." Have compassion, be kind, don't stir up trouble. God is against evil, and things like lying, making fun of others, gossiping...they're all evil in the sight of the Lord. I want to try and do my best for God. I want to be a light. If you have Him in your heart, you should have the desire to do right, to be Christ-like, and to follow in His footsteps.
I choose to treat others how I would want to be treated. Luke 6:31 says, "And as ye would that men should do to you, do ye also to them likewise." Every one of us wouldn't want to be treated unfairly. So, why would we do it to someone else when we wouldn't even do it to ourselves? I'm talking little things like making fun of someone, lying to someone else, backtalking.
I choose peace, love, and happiness. John 15:12 says, "This is my commandment, That ye love one another, as I have loved you." LOVE!! Love one another. You may be thinking, how can I love someone that went behind my back? Be the bigger person. Show love in return and they won't even know what to say. I know it may be hard at times, but it would be worth it if they saw Jesus in your heart and would be curious. They would see what they do not have, that you do have.
I choose to share the love that God has given me with others. What's the point in having something that amazing, and not sharing it with people?! Psalm 96:3: "Declare his glory among the heathen, his wonders among all people." Much like when us humans fall in love or get engaged, we want to share it with everyone. Why not share God's love with others? His love is greater than anyone else's...no one's love can compare to His.
"Let love be without dissimulation. Abhor that which is evil; cleave to that which is good." Romans 12:9. I choose good. I choose to cleave to God and His amazing love. Pray for those who are blinded by darkness. Pray that they will choose to step out from the dark and choose true love. We need more love in our hearts.
In a world full of hate, I choose love...what do you choose?
