So many times I have caught myself looking at other people's appearances and automatically catch a vibe. Then from there on out I sort of change my perspective about that person, good or bad, it sticks with me. I think that goes for everyone. Too often we are too quick to judge what is on the outside, and then we never give the inside a chance.
1 Samuel 16:7 says, "But the Lord said unto Samuel, Look not on his countenance, or on the height of his stature; because I have refused him: for the Lord seeth not as man seeth; for man looketh on the outward appearance, but the Lord looketh on the heart." Obviously we do not have the ability to look at others hearts like God does, because God is God. He is not human. But in this passage, God makes it clear to Samuel...Don't look on mans height or his appearance, that doesn't matter! Look at his heart, because that is what matters most. You see, a person isn't ugly on the outside, because Psalm 139:14 reads, "I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made: marvellous are thy works; and that my soul knoweth right well." We're all beautiful, we are all unique, because God made us! But what does make a person ugly...is their sin. If we let the flesh take control and think that we are better than someone else, that we're above someone else...it makes our insides look ugly. And what is within us, eventually radiates on the outside. We're all human. We're all made in the flesh. So yes, we are born to make mistakes. We're not perfect. But in order to be beautiful on the inside, it takes humbleness, kindness, lovingness, forgiveness. It takes knowing that you're not perfect on the inside, and that you need God. And sometimes that's hard for us humans to do. It's hard for us to step out of our stubbornness and pride and realize that we need someone. Someone far greater than us. Someone who's in control of it all; and will indeed, make our lives so much better. And that someone is God. He wants your heart so badly, GIVE IT TO HIM! To be beautiful, it starts with the inside. Give your pride up. Lay that all down and accept that none of us are perfect. Make your inside beautiful with Jesus Christ. :) Keep Smiling, rosepetalsandfaith <3
