I think we all get in stuck in ruts sometimes. The daily habits. The grind. Just going through the motions. Wake up. Make bed. Read bible. Go to work. Come home. Shower. Go to bed. Repeat the next day. Everyone's days look different, but I think we miss it sometimes...Actually living. Right here in the now. Myself included. Guilty as charged. But God's been teaching me something lately...life doesn't have to be perfect in order for it to be beautiful or fun or wonderful. It's extravagant when it's cherished. A wise teacher once told me this: "Don't count the days. Make the days count."What I mean when I say life is extravagant when it's cherished is this: It's enjoying a young cousin's giggle instead of worrying about what happens next. It's taking your coffee out on the deck with your bible in hand. It's basking in the sunshine on a spontaneous afternoon prayer walk...just because you can. It's taking the time to leave a note for a loved one, just to let them know they're appreciated. It's choosing to give yourself grace and simply enjoy the moments. It's trying out that new latte recipe because you think it'll be fun. It's driving to the lake just to watch the sunset and breathe. I think so often we get focused on where we're going and forget that in order to get there, we have to take care of the now. We forget to stop and take in the blessing of today. Because here's the thing, we're not promised tomorrow. We only have this moment we're living in. Stop the hustling for a minute. Why not fully embrace this day, this moment? Why not find joy in it? God wants you to be living and thriving in Him, friend. Cherish your days. Make them count. Always. I'm rooting for you. You May Also Enjoy:
