Often, we say a prayer and wonder why things didn't turn out the way we wanted them to. Maybe it even goes the exact opposite of what you pray for. And we wonder why.
But did you ever stop and think...is this God's will? God has a plan, and He will follow through with His plan. In Isaiah 55:8 it says: "For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the Lord." His thoughts are not our thoughts and His ways aren't ours, because He is God! And I'm so thankful that He is God, and that He knows best. He's in control. Even if it doesn't go the way we want it to, God has a plan and He won't leave you astray. On the Mount of Olives Jesus prayed to God, He said, "...Father, if thou be willing, remove this cup from me: nevertheless not my will, but thine, be done." (Luke 22:42). He prayed something different from God's plans, but yet He still said for God's will to be done. God had a plan for Jesus, He was to make a way for us to be able to be with Him in Heaven. He was to die and pay a debt He didn't owe, but one that I owed. I'm so thankful that God's Will was worked out, that He went through with His plan. Because now I have an opportunity to live with Him in Heaven FOREVER!!! And you have that opportunity too! You see, God knows best. And I'm thankful that I'm not in control, because my life would be an utter mess. My life would be so out of wack that I'd lose what little sanity I would have left. Sometimes God puts us in situations to teach us a lesson, or to grow as a Christian...and we have to accept it and put our trust in Him. Don't grumble and complain, instead, get on your knees and thank Him for your situation. You never know what could come out of it. So next time you're praying for something...ask God if it's His will. Ask Him for His will to be done in your life, because He'll make your life so much better than you had ever imagined if you let Him work in your life. If you let His will be done you'll see so many burdens be lifted off of your shoulder. He's comforting, loving, and all powerful; and He knows best. Keep Smiling, rosepetalsandfaith <3
