Today, I'm here to talk with you about prayer. It's a way to talk to God, through Jesus. It's a way to ask or talk to Someone who loves you, who cares for you, and is closer than a brother.
So many times we often just pray to God when bad things happen, and we have nobody else to turn to. That's not an awful thing, to pray for the bad things in life, but prayer is so much more than that!
Prayer is thanking God for everything He's given us. The little itty bitty things, and the gigantic things. Including the things we've forgotten about. But most importantly thanking Him for loving us enough to send His only Son to die for us, but not only die, His Son resurrected, ascended, and offers us Heaven with Him. Thank Him for that!
Prayer is asking God to forgive you when you've done wrong. It's asking Him for strength to overcome your weaknesses. Asking Him to guide you down the right path, and asking for wisdom to know the difference between right and wrong, and not only to know the difference but to follow the right.
Worrying about a job, future spouse, or the bills? Prayer is placing your future in the palm of God's hand and knowing He's going to work it out for the better. Because HE IS.
It's resting you assured, because you know in God's Word, that He takes care of His people. It's the relief you feel afterwards, knowing that God cares for what you do. He has empathy for you. There's nothing too big or too little to pray about to God. He's a big God, and He can take care of anything and everything. In His will.
Pray for the person diagnosed with cancer, pray for the lost in your family, pray for your future and worries. It's not selfish. God's Word tells you to ask! Pour your heart and soul out to Him.
But when you pray, remember to thank Him, because you're immensely blessed and you don't even realize it.
What's prayer to you?
