Have you ever felt like your priorities were out of whack? Like you were literally wondering around aimlessly, not sure of what to do next? I can relate. Too many times I have scrolled through Instagram looking at old posts when indeed, I could have been doing something actually worth my time. Maybe you've done the same thing. This world can throw some crazy distractions in our direction and if we're not careful, we'll be caught up right in the midst of it all. Here's the thing: Social media is not life. Looking "perfect" is not life. Money is not life. Technology is not life. Recently, I've come to the realization that I need to straighten my priorities and straighten how I live my life in general. Life is truly fleeting. The Word of God says that it's as a vapor. How we spend our time is incredibly important because we only get one life and the Bible says to do all things to the glory of God (1 Cor. 10:31). Erin Paine recently wrote a caption under one of her newest Instagram pictures. In that post, she talked about how life wasn't about all these fleeting, silly things. Life's about honoring God, living like Jesus, and loving people. The most simple statement really blew my mind! Sometimes we make life a little more complicated than it actually is (myself included!). Wow! how we add the chaos, the heartache, and the stress. No wonder we can't discover true joy...we're too jumbled up in our own messes to look up at realize what we're missing. We must start off with a strong foundation: The Lord. Then we must try our best to live like Jesus. And lastly, we love with all of our hearts...just like Jesus. Life really is that simple. Life isn't about being the hero or changing the world. Jesus already did that for us. So, when I start feeling like I have a huge load on my back or I'm not "perfect", I'll tilt my head up and repeat my life's new motto: I will try my best to honor God, live like Jesus, and love others. Priorities straighten up when we place God as number one in our lives. That's what I desire for my life, because I can't walk through any moment without my Heavenly Father before me, behind me, and all around me. Keep Smiling, rosepetalsandfaith <3 You May Also Enjoy:
