Tips & Recommendations for Bible Studying, Journaling, Memorizing Scripture and Much More! Happy Friday! Can we celebrate?! Woot Woot! Today, I thought I'd help my lovely readers out by sharing some tips and tricks that I've personally learned and tried out over the many years that I would recommend to you guys. These are for Bible studying, journaling, memorizing Bible Verses and so. much. more. These are literally in no particular order, they're most definitely random, but I thought I'd share some with you, because I wanna help a friend out. ;) Scroll down to get some tips from me! Highlighting and Bookmarking: Have a system This is something that I, personally, have failed to do. Buuut I'll tell you from experience, this is such an insanely great idea. Set aside a specific highlight color for things Jesus says that you love. Or pick a bookmark color to mark off sections about love, hope, or how to gain strength. Later on, you'll be grateful for this little system, it'll be easier to find certain passages and notes. Prayer Journaling This is something that has become essential for my day. Whether I do it first thing in the morning, or before I go to bed, it's an absolute blessing! I highly recommend grabbing a journal and pouring your heart out to God. Whether it be on the topic of relationships, the future, prayer requests or just giving praise! Later down your life, you can go back and see how God has answered those prayers and it's motivation to keep praying, because He answers! It's a tear-filled blessing! <3 How to Memorize scripture Here are two ways that I've found work for me when it comes to memorizing God's Word. 1.) Quit reading it over and over to the point where you just get frustrated, like it's a test. Grab (or make) a 3x5 card (index card) and write the verse/s down on it. Then, place it somewhere you'll see it often, like on your mirror, in your purse, or by your clock. When you see the index card, read it once or twice, then go about your day, and when you see it again, repeat. This seriously works, I kid you not, I know Bible Verses by heart now because of this method. 2.) Set your Bible passage as your wallpaper on your phone or computer. You know you look at your phone quite often...so take a good advantage of it. Start Your Day With God & End it With Him The first thing you have to do is pick a secluded place for just you and God. Whether you live five minutes from the beach, or you want to just sit in your room. Pick a place for you to meditate on His word. Start your day off with Him, if it's devotions, writing a prayer, or reading your Bible verses and singing a song...perfect! We often think we're so busy with other things. Give God some of YOUR time. End your day with Him as well. End it with a good Christian Fiction book (let me know if you want any book recommendations, I could do a separate post on it!), or Bible reading and a prayer. God deserves time and praise. Plus, it makes for an amazing day! ;) Note Taking This is one, like all the others, I highly recommend. I have a specific note taking notebook just for Scripture. I love taking notes on sermons I've heard, or in my Bible class, or when I write a blogpost. The notes are so encouraging to look back on down the road when you face struggles or obstacles. Inspirational Wallpaper reminders Pinterest has a gazillion of them. I'm posting some inspirational quotes on my Instagram (link in 'about me' section). They're just great reminders when you're going through a bad day, and you need a little pick-me-up. Set it as a wallpaper, or even print it out and put it somewhere you'll constantly be reminded. I hope you enjoyed this Friday's blogpost. Take some of these recommendations/tips and try them out. These are things that I, myself do and most definitely suggest to you! :)
Have a lovely weekend and God bless! Keep Smiling, rosepetalsandfaith <3
