Welcome to Rosepetalsandfaith, friend! I'm so glad to have you here with me today! I haven't popped by on this beauty section of Rosepetalsandfaith in quite a while. So, I thought, why not come over to this side of the blog today and chat with you a bit about modest Christian girl makeup? I'm even including a fun video tutorial for you to follow along and watch. Let's get into it!
I remember first starting into makeup...sheesh. My Momma always taught me that simplicity is key, but I remember breaking out the charcoal black eyeliner and smudging it all over my eyelids quite a few times...not the brightest idea. I'd attempt a cat-eye winged linger...oh dear, not for me. Yes, I can tell you this: I learned a lot from my mistakes.
I assume you're wanting help with modest makeup since you're visiting this page. Or maybe, you just find it a fascinating read. Whatever the case, when it comes to makeup I truly believe that simplicity is timeless. I know what you're thinking: We live in the 21st century Katlyn, get with the times. Honestly though, should I? Don't get me wrong, a pop of pretty pink eyeshadow and a fun bright lip is fine when used sparingly, but I think you'll agree with me when I say less is more.
I'm not saying you must walk around without any makeup on and never dabble in some blush and mascara. In fact, that is the opposite of the message I'm trying to send across. Makeup can be fun and make you feel more confident! (We must also know that beauty isn't what's on the outside; it's the inside that counts. For more on the definition of beauty, click here.) But us Christian girls need to know that as followers of Christ, we must be set apart. Christ never took part of this vain, immoral world, so neither should we.
But guess what? I believe that Jesus lived a life full of smiles and joy, not one of restriction and boredom. So, in the right way, we can too! Us women can enjoy putting on makeup to dress it up and feel beautiful. I see nothing wrong with that. Though, I truly believe that simplicity is key when it comes to doing makeup.
Allow me to show you in this YouTube video I created for girls like me who might have struggled with makeup at first in a world that lures you into thinking that unless you're plastic, you're not beautiful. The world is so wrong. I hope the video below demonstrates a fun modest Christian makeup routine for girls. No, I'm not a makeup artist, but these are things my Momma's Momma passed down to my Momma and she passed down to me. ;) Simplicity is the key to feeling like yourself and looking timelessly classy.
Hope your day is bright and wonderful! Enjoy the video!
