To the girl who is becoming a senior, Katlyn, you've grown pretty fast. It's absolutely crazy how fast time flies. One minute, you're a tiny girl as shy as a little puppy, the next you're becoming a ballerina dancing on everything. Then, you get a little older, dreading the first day of Kindergarten because you want to be with your Mommy every waking minute. And then before you even blink, you're being homeschooled, discovering your true identity, making friends for a lifetime, and dedicating your life to the Lord. Then for some crazy idea you decide to blink again and you're heading into your senior year. You're slowly becoming a woman as cliché as that sounds. You've waited ever since kindergarten to be a big girl and grow up. But if I could go back now, I would tell that little girl to stay little for as long as she can, for the world is big and intimidating. Katlyn, I want you to remember this moment, when you were typing this blogpost with tears streaming down your face, realizing that sometimes we take life in general for granted. We make stupid, stupid mistakes. The moment you came to the realization that you will always need Someone bigger than your own broken self to hold your hand and walk you through this crazy thing called your life. Don't you dare ever forget what God brought you through, how He transformed you, and how He calls you His own. Hold on tight to His hand, because you've been told that life gets rough. God has promises for you though, remember that. Don't ever forget your roots, no matter where life takes you. God and your family is your rock. Whenever life seems to get you down, your family will be there, to lift you up and encourage you. No matter what. Never hold a grudge. No matter how angry something makes you, never hold a grudge, for God never held a grudge against you. Live life, but never live it too seriously to where you can't laugh. Have fun, make memories, and love with all of your heart. Continue to try, and try your very best, even if it's not an "A". Make this year incredible. Soak up every moment. Enjoy your education, and indulge in every piece of advice your teachers, friends, and family give you. They know a lot Katlyn, they've gone through a lot. That's what they're here for. Hold your head up high, for you are masterpiece shaped by the hand of God Himself. He's going to make a way of a job for you, a family for you, and simply a joyous future. He has incredible plans for your life, and it will be full of love and joy if you continue to hold onto His hand. Never forget to thank God for this wonderful journey that has led you up to now and will lead you until the end of your life. He has given you a wonderful life with wonderful people and wonderful memories. Treasure them, treasure the Lord, and hold it close to your heart always. You have been given a special, unique life...live it. You are incredibly loved, Katlyn. And with God, you can accomplish anything. Oh, and don't forget... Keep Smiling, rosepetalsandfaith <3 |
