2019 has been one for the books.
A year of many firsts.
A year of much change.
I graduated and got to be Abeka Homeschool's spotlight graduate. I got to see the Gulf of Mexico. I met new friends. I started a job straight out of high school. I published a Christian fiction romance in the fall. I hosted a book signing with another local author, who has become quite the friend. But here’s the thing: none of this would have been possible without the Lord weaving His perfect plan for 2019 with His hands. I thank Him for each person He has placed in my life this year. For the support with Finding Hope. For the friendships He has given me. For the family. The church family. Each single person. 2019 has been a year I will never forget. It’s simply been incredible.
I was journaling the other day, figuring out my theme verse for this year, and these three words hit me: Live for God. Life's complicated, I got it. It's busy, I understand it. But throughout the day, throughout life, a lot of us miss it. My one task. My one job...is to live for God. How often I let this slip my mind through the hub bub of the day!
This year, I'm challenging myself each day to pray these words, not out of habit, but because I get to: Lord, how can I serve you, today? God, use me to accomplish your will.
It's when you realize that He went to the cross not because He had to, but because we needed saving, life gains a deeper meaning.
I pray in 2020, I remember that. I pray throughout my life, I remember that. Life is too short to take for granted. Our Savior is too merciful to not live for.
Here’s to 2019 and looking forward to 2020. A new year. A new decade. One I pray will accomplish much for the Lord. Happy New Year, friends!
