As we talk this morning, I encourage you to really get into a habit of doing these three things in the mornings. It will wake you up physically, spiritually, and mentally, and prepare you for the day ahead. Follow these three things in the morning in their order and I really think they will help you! ;)
1.) Make your bed.
Okay, ya know, after you brush your teeth, because everyone has that stanky morning breath. Hehehehe. When my feet hit the floor, I make up my bed. This small, tiny little step already puts you in a productive state and it tells your mind *oh, yes, it's time to get moving!* When I don't make up my bed, I feel like I've already failed in the morning, lol! So girl, put all your decorative pillows back in their neat place and straighten up your bed. You'll immediately feel better!
2.) Do your Devotions!
I've said it multiple times before on the blog, but my whole day depends on these precious moments spent with Jesus. Whipping out my Bible and colorful pens gets me excited in the mornings. This really sets the tone for the day. I notice a huge difference in my mood when I read my Bible and commune with God in the mornings. I honestly cannot imagine my mornings without reading in the precious Word of God. So grab your Bible, pick a book or a reading plan (get a free 30-day one on Romans here), and talk with the Lord. Remember, it's a relationship, not a religion. You have to put forth effort and lift up your head to Jesus and I guarantee He will meet you EVERY morning.
3.) Do Yoga or Go For a Walk
WOOOO buddy, I am a little obsessive over yoga in the mornings. But I guess that's a good thing right? Getting my blood moving and clearing my mind is something I look forward to every morning. Most of the time I'll do a morning yoga session (I love Yoga with Adriene and highly recommend her to anyone who wants to give yoga a whirl!), but I also love going on walks every now and then. Both activities are so good for taking deep breaths and praying to God. After all, He is the one who gave you the very strength and ability to move this morning. Think about it a minute...so many of us take advantage of our bodies. Others would do anything to have legs to move and good lungs to breath deeply. Use this time to praise God for your two legs and arms and good health!
I certainly hope and pray that these three simple things will motivate you and encourage you to take your mornings more seriously, even if that does mean waking up thirty minutes earlier to get it all in. It's definitely worth the refreshed body, mind, and soul.
Prayers that your day goes well and sending hugs to all of you! Thanks so much for stopping by Rosepetalsandfaith! Be sure to check out more of the blog! God bless!
