DIY Christmas Snow Globes
Christmas time is here!!!
Here's how I feel about it...
Here's how I also feel about it...
In light of the Holiday spirits, I'm going to be showing you guys how to make these super cute and easy snow globes! They're so fun, and really simple...plus they look GORGEOUS on the fireplace mantle! ;)
This is a really fun craft to do with friends while listening to some Christmas music and baking cookies! YUM! I'll throw a yummy homemade sugar cookie recipe at ya while I'm thinking of it.
Scroll down, and I'll be giving you tips and pointers as we go along with simple, step-by-step instructions. :)
Here's what you'll need:
1.) Glue your decorations down on the mason jar lid. Be sure that the decorations will slide into the jar easily and that you're not adding too much to your lid. Use a good amount of glue on your decorations, you want your ornaments to stay put once they're submerged in water! Let it dry until the glue is no longer tacky and your decorations are now stable. (NOTE: the drying process may take a while.)
2.) While your decorations are beginning to dry, add a stylish touch to your plain ol' ring by adding some fun ribbon!
3.) Fill your mason jar up to about an inch below the ring line with the distilled water. (You will want a gap for air.)
4.) Add just a few splashes of glycerin. (Depending on how slow you want your glitter and snow to fall.)
5.) Throw in your glitter and snow. Just put in how much you'd like to see float in your snow globe. I think the more glitter the better, but it's personal preference. ;P
6.) Once your décor is dry from the glue -AND BE SURE IT'S DRY- carefully slide your decorations in the jar and put the lid where it would go. Secure it all tight with a twist of your mason jar lid. Don't worry if the glitter looks clumpy and weird at first.
7.) Give it a good shake...and VIOLA! You have your very own personalized snow globe. :)
Ahhh!! What a fun DIY! If you have any questions be sure to comment below and ask! I'll be quick to reply!
