I'm sitting here in bed at 10:44 P.M. wondering why I'm actually not sleeping. So, I picked up a notebook and my favorite gel pen, and started writing. There's something soothing about that for me--writing, that is.
It's a hobby of mine almost like painting is for others or maybe working a puzzle. I've learned over the years that words are powerful (especially when they convince your mother that you need a puppy hehehe). Used in the right way, God can bring something so beautiful from Words. I mean, just read the Bible.
For quite some time, I've been dealing with doubt and discouragement. When I write, there's this passion--this thing that just clicks for me. Like, yes, this is what I'm supposed to be doing. I literally see God's hand in every little detail, and I praise Him for that. But Satan, knowing how to deceive the Christian, likes to throw obstacles in the way to try to get you to doubt God.
When a response to your passion is silence, or a mere sarcastic chuckle takes the place of what you thought would be encouragement, it disappoints. No one following the will of God wants to be put down, especially by other believers. However, if there is one thing I have learned recently, it is that following God most generally means it is just you and Him.
I was not called to be doctor, a teacher, a nurse, or a dentist. I fully believe I was called to write. And with God's help and guidance, I can accomplish His will for my life. I can accomplish anything He calls me to do.
We all have a purpose. While some may bake, be missionaries, sing on stages, or preach, it all should point back to man's main life purpose: spreading the Gospel of Jesus Christ. God calls His followers to be different, set apart from the world. Letting His light shine through us.
I'm living, and I'm learning. Praise God, I believe that publishing and more things on the subject of writing will be revealed soon. As I've been reading about the account of Moses's life in Exodus, I fully trust that God's timing is the best timing.
"And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose."
