"For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life." -John 3:16 Maybe they're words you've never heard before. Never even known about. Maybe they're words you've grown cold and hard to. Bitter to. Angry to. Words you haven't heard in a long time. Maybe they're words you have overlooked from time to time. Glanced at them and looked away. Skimmed by them. Took no thought about them. I've grown up my entire life in church, been taught the lessons from the Bible ever since I can remember. I think we get used to things we hear all our life and they become the normal. But Someone loving us so much that He would die for us and did die for us even when we hated and rejected Him...that's not normal. It's not something to be overlooked. Whether you've never heard them before or you've grown callous to them or you've begun to overlook them, the rescue and fate of mankind rests in John 3:16. We are a fallen world. A world that has no hope within itself. A world that will perish and fade away. But God sent His Son. Jesus was His only Son. He didn't have to, but Jesus willingly came down from Heaven to earth to save mankind. He walked a sinless life. Took our sins and punishment to the cross so we wouldn't have to endure it. The Bible says Jesus was bruised for our iniquities. He's our only hope. You see, without the sacrificial blood of Jesus forgiving me of my sins, I would have no hope. The cross is a representation of death being defeated. Of sin being defeated. Of satan being defeated. Of freedom from the bondage of sin. Not only did He die for us, but the Bible also says that on the third day, He arose from the grave. Meaning, death has no victory over us. Meaning, life may be a vapor here on earth, but all can have the hope of Heaven for an eternity. On that Easter morning, He gave us peace, victory, power, grace, love, hope. Praise God! How marvelous it is to think that Someone loved me so much to provide an "escape route" for me and the whole world! It, in fact, is not normal. Not fathomable! To quote Matthew West from his beautiful song "So Loved," every life's defining moment is the moment you decide what you will do with Jesus. Will you let Him in? Will you give Him all your cares and surrender your life to Jesus? Will you drop all your plans and follow His purposes for your life? It's not an easy road, but it's a life full of abundant joy knowing you're sheltered in the arms of God. If you've never put your faith in Jesus Christ and asked Him to save you from your sins, there is no better time than today! Especially with Easter coming up, when we celebrate His resurrection from the dead! It's the most important decision you'll ever make in your life. Choose today to let Jesus into your heart. Choose today to let John 3:16 transform your life. Choose today to look beyond your life, and discover the life that matters in Jesus. This Easter might look a little different because of COVID-19, but praise God, He's not changed because of our circumstances. He's not changed period. He's still the same. Jesus's grave is still empty. Jesus's blood still cleanses. We still have hope. Claim it. Have a blessed Easter! Keep Smiling, rosepetalsandfaith <3 (P.S.
