Confidence. C-O-N-F-I-D-E-N-C-E. It’s something that almost everyone struggles with at a point in their lives. Some of us are never truly happy with our appearance. Whether that be wrinkles, weight, our hair, noses, our height…we’re never satisfied. I can even testify to that, many times I’ve sat and wondered about myself. And that’s sad to think that that’s on our minds, because you’re God’s masterpiece. You’re His “painting”, so to speak. Think about this: We never look at Mount Everest and say, “That’s extremely ugly God, why did you create that?” We never watch a sunset and go, “You could do so much better than that God.” No. Then, why do we say that about ourselves? Unlike the sunsets, mountains, and hills, God created us in His own image (Genesis 1:27 - “So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.”), that should make us feel even more special! But yet…we still look at ourselves and say, “Why God?”.
First off, beauty starts on the inside. Whatever is in the inside, will radiate on the outside. So, know this…if you’ve accepted Jesus Christ into your heart, He’s made you new and whole. A Christian’s life tells a story of how you went from a filthy sinner, to a child of God. That story is amazing. That beauty on the inside, should outshine everything else, because God’s love is glorious and beautiful. You have to have peace within, then you’ll gain the confidence that’s needed. He gives us that confidence that we’re constantly searching for. One of the reasons we do question ourselves is because, we’re constantly wanting more. We never want to settle for the truth. We are who we are, and that’s enough…you’re enough! You don’t need anything added or taken away from you. That’s what makes up your life, your appearance and yourself. You do not need more. You need to be yourself instead, and that’s plenty. 1 Corinthians 6:20 – “For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God’s.” Glorify Him in YOUR body, because that’s all that God wants from you…yourself. Too often, we compare ourselves to others. When instead, we should be looking in the mirror saying, “Thank you God for creating me the way I am.” Psalm 139:13 & 14 says, “For thou hast possessed my reins: thou hast covered me in my mother’s womb. I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made; marvellous are thy works; and that my soul knoweth right well.” You are so carefully made, and God molded you into you. Be thankful that you’re not someone else. The world would be absolutely boring if everyone was the same. God knew what He was doing when He created you. Think of Amy Carmichael and her story about her eyes, God has a plan and a purpose for everything. Never doubt Him. You are beautiful. You are amazing. You are loved. You are God’s. You're priceless. Don’t question that. God’s going to do amazing thing’s with you, if only you allow Him to and accept yourself for who you truly are. You’re no one else, but you. Keep smiling, rosepetalsandfaith <3
