Today's blogpost I want to keep short and simple because I believe it's just that, short and simple. First, I want to meet you where you're at. So, maybe you're dealing with unfaithful, unloving friends. Maybe you've faced betrayal and mockery. Maybe you know that God is with you, but you feel totally alone and have no friends to uplift and encourage you. Maybe life just hasn't treated you so kindly and you don't feel like you can trust anyone. For me, I was super shy for the longest time. I'd follow the crowd and silently just try to blend in or fit in where I could. It was unhealthy. Call me crazy, but after my family started homeschooling, the more outgoing I became. But I think us girls are always looking for dependable, fun, and solid friendships. That's what I always desired. I just didn't know how to get there. Sometimes, we end up following the wrong crowd and we get going down the wrong path with the wrong people. It was in my high school years when I learned that in order to have faithful, good, fulfilling friendships, I needed to show myself friendly and be the friend to someone else I'd always wanted. And guess what? God blessed from there and He's still blessing immensely. It was out of my comfort zone, yes, but this Truth became prevalent in my life: "Two are better than one; because they have a good reward for their labour. For if they fall, the one will lift up his fellow: but woe to him that is alone when he falleth; for he hath not another to help him up." |
